The Puerto Rican Journal of Psychology (reps) calls for abstracts for the special issue: "Equity, racism, and mental health in Latin America and the Caribbean" to be published in 2024.
This special issue will focus theoretical debates on the topic of equity, racism, and mental health from a psychosocial and interdisciplinary approach with Afro-descendant, Indigenous and Asian populations from Latin America and the Caribbean. In addition, we want to document: a) the colonial or postcolonial context in which psychology professionals work and address the challenges in Eurocentric historical narratives to achieve changes, b) the role of professionals in interventions from different settings and c) the challenges and needs to implement public policy that promotes social and anti-racist justice for broader access to human rights.
The call is open to professionals in psychology and related disciplines in the academic and clinical fields, as well as master's and doctoral students.
