Resumen

Pre-therapy training has been used to prepare clients for inividual, group, and family psychotherapy/counseling. Among the most popular pre-therapy or pretraining methods used are the role induction interview and the vicarious therapy pretraining. Most of the pre-therapy training reported in the literature made use of drief interventions, which fluctuated between 45 seconds and 90 minutes, given to clients prior to their first psychotherapy session. The research findings in the area of pre-therapy training have shown conflicting results. However, they suggest that the Role Induction Interview and the Vicarious Therapy Pretraining are usually effective facilitators of the therapeutic process.
